Busan Battle: Tekken 7 IeSF Qualifier

We are thrilled to be able to organise the Swiss Tekken 7 qualifer for the IeSF world championship together with SESF!
We are happy to also have the support of GameTurnier.ch on-site.
Since only Swiss citicens are allowed to participate in the qualifier we will also host a side tournament where everyone can participate and the top 3 placing players will receive non-cash prizes.

Informations & Rules

Venue, fees, prizes

  • The tournament takes place during the Eevent LAN in Burgdorf, Bern. You can get all information on how to get there directly from their website.
  • The entry fee is 15.- CHF. Paricipants do not need an Eevent-Ticket. Every participants receives a voucher for a drink.
  • Singups will be done directly on-site, there is no online registration. Should you have any questions, you can contact us through the contact form.
  • The winner will have the trip to the IeSF-world championship final in Busan sponsored to represent Switzerland!
  • The top 3 placing players of the side tournament receive non-cash prizes.

Timetable

  • Date: 12.08.2017
  • 10:00 - 13:00: Singups for the qualifier tournament, afterwards no more signups will be accepted
  • 10:00 - 14:00: Singups for the side tournament, afterwards no more signups will be accepted
  • Starting 13:00: Group phase qualifier
  • Starting 18:00: Final phase qualifier (on Stream)
  • Starting 14:00: Group phase side tournament, final phase follows immediately after group phase is over.

Rules, mode

  • Only Swiss citicens can participate in the Tekken 7 , everyone can participate in the side tournament

  • Up to 16 competitors: 2 round robin groups, afterwards top 8 double dlimination (best 4 from each group advance to the DE bracket)
  • 17-32 competitors: 4 round robin groups, afterwards top 8 double elimination (best 2 from each group advance to the DE bracket)
  • 33-64 competitors: 8 round robin groups, afterwards top 16 double elimination (best 2 from each group advance to the DE bracket)
  • 65-128 competitors: 16 round robin groups, afterwards top 32 double elimination (best 2 from each group advance to the DE bracket)
  • During Round Robin all sets are BO3
  • During double elimination, all sets are BO3 until half of the competitors are out of tournament. Afterwards all sets are BO5. For example, top 32 in a DE bracket with 64 players are BO5. DE brackets with only 8 competitors do not follow this rule; in this canse all sets are BO5.

Term Definitions

  • Round Robin (RR): Group where everyone playes against everyone
  • Double Elimination (DE): Mode with 2 tournament brackets, a winners & losers bracket; after a loss in the winners bracket a competitor has a second chance in the losers bracket.

  • Best of 3 / best of 5 (BO3 / BO5): Format where a competitor needs to win the majority of the games to advance. In a BO3 the competitor who gets 2 wins first, wins the set.
